Sister Cities
Kelowna enjoys two sister city relationships; with Kasugai, Japan and Veendam, the Netherlands.
Kasugai, Japan
Kelowna and Kasugai have been sister cities since 1981; the arrangement has fostered a number of cultural exchanges and business ventures. The two cities also signed an Agreement on Environmental Protection in 2001.

Monthly meetings are held from 7:00-9:00pm at the Water Street Centre (1360 Water Street) every second Monday of the month (except Dec, July, Aug).

Veendam, The Netherlands
Kelowna has enjoyed a sister city relationship with Veendam since 1980; the arrangement was originally established in recognition of the role played by Kelowna troops in the liberation of Holland in 1945. The official Sister City agreement was formally renewed in 2001.
