Environmental Mind Grind

The Terasen Gas Environmental Mind Grind (EMG) is organized by the EECO-Heroes (Environmental Educators of the Central Okanagan) and is an exciting jeopardy-style trivia contest that tests the knowledge of grades 4 to 12 students on local environmental issues. Teams sign up in January and have until April to learn the study package information.

Team enthusiasm heats up on game day, April 17, 2010 as elementary and middle school students vie for fabulous prizes including $500 for the winning school, trendy vests and hats. Winning teams and all high school teams go on to play in the BC Playoffs, May 7, for a chance to win $1,000 for their school. First place high school teams will receive $1,000 per participant towards post secondary education.  Participating teachers have claimed that the event not only “motivated students to learn more” but the information was a “teaching package fully prepared” that “fit very well with the curriculum.”

We would like to send out a special thanks to all of our Sponsors who make this event possible!
