Memberships at PRC

Memberships are available at Parkinson Recreation Centre for individuals, seniors and families. Membership allows you access to the PRC fitness centre, aquatics centre and gymnasium.

Memberships also include:

  • Free drop-in fitness classes at Parkinson Recreation Centre and Parkinson Activity Centre
  • Family drop-in sports

Drop-in fitness classes

Members can drop-in to a number of seasonal fitness classes up to one week in advance online, by phone or in-person at Parkinson Recreation Centre.  Non-members may also drop-in for a fee in-person the day of the class at Parkinson Recreation Centre. Participants must show proof of drop-in to the instructor prior to class start.

Family drop-in sports

Members (individuals or families) can drop-in to the Parkinson Recreation Centre gymnasium to enjoy free-play with sport equipment. Drop-in sports are open to all ages and ability levels. No pre-registration is required.

Non-members may also drop-in for a fee.  See PRC Rates for fees (below) or call 250-469-8800 for more information.

Please connect with the front desk upon arrival to access equipment. Some equipment may not be available at times depending on other program needs. Please note only 1 pickleball net will be available to be in use at a time.

Please note that participants under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult or caregiver (16 years and older).

PRC Pool and Aquatics Centre

The aquatics facility includes a 25-metre swimming pool, children's play pool, hot tub and steam room.

The above schedule is in effect from March 17 to April 1, 2024.

Please note: children under 7 years of age and under must remain within arm's reach of a parent or adult caregiver at all times. A responsible adult or caregiver 16 years or older in the water may supervise up to 3 children under the age of 7 regardless of swimming ability.

What level of swimming lessons should I register my child in?

The Red Cross Swim program is no longer supported by Red Cross. Our instructors now teach the Lifesaving Society's Swim for Life program. While most lessons are similar to Red Cross, please read course descriptions closely, or see the progression chart link below.

PRC Fitness Centre

The Fitness Centre at Parkinson Recreation Centre includes a circuit training room, weight room and cardio room. The Fitness Centre is open to anyone 13 years and older. Proper attire and footwear are required when using the fitness facilities.

Parkinson Recreation Fitness Centre Monitors & Orientations

Monitors are certified personal fitness trainers available to assist clients with equipment or workouts. Fitness Centre Monitors are on site for equipment orientations.  Call 250-469-8800 or see bulletin board in fitness centre for the daily schedule.
Please note, the fitness monitor schedule is subject to change so please call 250-469-8800 to confirm.

Fitness Centre Orientations are available by the Fitness Centre Monitors.  No appointment necessary.

Personal Trainers

To make the most of your time in the Fitness Centre, consider working with a Personal Trainer.  Sessions are by appointment only.  Please call 250-469-8800 to book yours today.  Age: 13Y and up.

Introduction to Personal Training - $90

  • 3 hours with a Certified Personal Trainer
  • 1 month pass to the Parkinson Recreation Centre (includes fitness centre and pool)

Hourly rates:

  • One session: $45/hr
  • Five-nine sessions: $40/hr
  • Ten or more sessions: $35/hr

Hourly sessions are non-refundable, non-transferable, and will expire two years after purchase date.  Complete the Personal Training form below and submit to the Parkinson Recreation Centre

Monday - Friday: 8 a.m. - 9 p.m., Saturday - Sunday: 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

During the first week of recreation program registration each season, phone lines will open 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. Please be advised that if you call during peak registration times you may experience a busy signal that will require you to call again. We thank you for your patience.

** A family includes a maximum of two adults and all of their children under 19 years of age who are related by birth, legal status or marriage and are living in the same household. (Full time students over 18 years, with proof of enrolment, are eligible under a Family Pass.)Infants 2 and under are free.
*** Full time at a recognized Post Secondary Educational institute. A valid Student ID card with expiry must be presented.

  • Facility Pass - Includes public swim, lane and adult swim, whirlpool, hot tub, steam room, fitness facility and drop-in gymnasium. Monthly memberships also include some drop-in fitness classes, workout workshops and drop-in family sports.
  • One & Three Month Facility Passes 
  • Six Month Facility Passes - Includes 1/2 hour free Personal Training consultation - one per person.
  • One Year Facility Passes - Includes 1 hour free Personal Training consultation - one per person.
  • Access Pass - Combination, program and facility passes available. Must be approved.
  • Scheduled Payment Option available on one year passes plus a $30 annual processing fee.
  • Reciprocal Use at Parkinson Recreation Centre and H2O.  One year memberships are eligible for discounted single entry or punch passes at the other facility. Call 250-469-8800 for more information.
  • 10 and 20 Entry Passes are non-refundable, non-transferable, and valid for two years from date of purchase.
