Section of Dehart Road closed starting Monday
Starting Oct. 1 and until early November, a section of Dehart Road will be closed to through traffic. Traffic changes are due to ongoing construction for Phase 1 of the Kelowna Integrated Water Project.
For approximately three weeks starting Oct. 1, Dehart Road between Swamp Road and Crawford Road will be closed to through traffic. Access to Dehart Road will be maintained for residents and businesses located within the work zone, as well as for transit, people walking, and people bicycling. A detour for through traffic will be available via Swamp Road and Casorso Road.
Starting in late October and for approximately three weeks, the closure will shift to Dehart Road between Crawford Road and Casorso Road. Access will continue to be maintained for residents and businesses located within the work zone, as well as for transit, people walking, and people bicycling. A detour for through traffic will be available via Stewart Road West and Crawford Road.
Construction activities will generally occur Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For the safety of the public and work crews, please follow signs and directions of traffic safety personnel, as every effort will be made to minimize disruptions.
Also starting in late October, single-lane alternating traffic will be implemented for approximately three weeks on Hughes Road. Project construction continues on Frost Road, Chute Lake Road, Gordon Drive, Crawford Road, Quilchena Crescent, Wallace Hill Road, Saucier Road, Stellar Drive, Canyon View Court, and Canyon View Crescent. While work continues in Southeast Kelowna over the coming months, residents and businesses are thanked for their patience.
By 2021, the $86-million Kelowna Integrated Water project will deliver clean drinking water to approximately 2,000 Southeast Kelowna households and a sustainable water supply for South Mission agriculture.
