Roundabout closures for paving next week
Starting Sunday, May 2, crews will begin repaving Casorso Road at Swamp Road, Casorso Road at Benvoulin Road and the John Hindle Drive at Hwy 97 roundabouts.
All paving will take place between 5 p.m. and 6 a.m. in order to lessen the impact on motorists. During paving hours all traffic will be detoured. Motorists are asked to choose alternate routes to avoid having to turn around. Transit will continue to operate on its regular schedule. Work is anticipated for completion Saturday, May 8, weather depending.
This project is one of 35 paving projects that are included in the City’s annual Pavement Management Program which prioritizes City road repairs. These roundabouts are between 10-15 years-old and the new pavement will extend the life of the roundabouts for another 15 years.
The City of Kelowna and workers on site appreciate the patience of residents, businesses and motorists while road work is underway. Noise due to the road resurfacing is expected.
