Pop-up toilet pilot construction starts
Installation has begun for utility services connections for the pop-up toilet pilot on Queensway Avenue. The parking lot between Kasugai Gardens and the Okanagan Heritage Museum as well as the plaza area beside the Museum through to Queensway will be fenced and closed to allow for the work.
A 20-foot container that will include two washrooms is anticipated to be open by the end of April.
The pilot is intended to provide increased access to inviting, clean washrooms for all visitors to the Queensway area and is proposed to be operated by attendants employed by the social enterprise called PEOPLE Employment Services (Paid Employment for People with Lived Experiences).
