Highlights of October 5 Council meeting
Council OK’d a development permit for an expansion and renovation at Redbird Brewing, 1080-1090 Richter Street. The proposal will include extensive renovations to the brewery and distillery including an additional 80 bicycle parking spaces, an outdoor seating area, elevated music stage, dog run and landscaping.
Downtown parking in December
For the 26th consecutive year, Council agreed to provide complimentary on-street parking in the downtown each Saturday in December 2020. This has been done as a Christmas promotion, at the request of the Downtown Kelowna Association.
Journey Home Society
Council endorsed a Memorandum of Understanding between the City and the Journey Home Society to support the implementation of the Journey Home Strategy. The MOU is designed to support the Society as they build their capacity and continue to grow and evolve and increase their sustainability as an independent organization. Read the full report here.
