Council highlights

New Tim Hortons

Council issued a development permit for a Tim Hortons restaurant and drive-through, adjacent to the Canadian Tire store on Leckie Road.  Access will be from Highway 97N.

McKinley multi-family

Council issued a development permit for a proposed 24-unit hillside development at 3220 Hilltown Drive containing 10 duplexes and one four-plex. The size of each unit ranges from 1,500-sqft two-bedroom units to 1,780-sqft three-bedroom units. The property is in the McKinley Beach neighbourhood and is currently vacant.

Okanagan Rail Trail update

Council received an update on the Okanagan Rail Trail and the Okanagan Rail Trail committee, established to oversee activities related to the planning, development, maintenance and use of the corridor.  The committee has also agreed on a brand strategy with a logo, and wayfinding and trail etiquette signs will be installed shortly. Council procedures

Council gave first three readings to updating the Council Procedures Bylaw. Among the updates, Residents’ Associations can address Council at public hearings for five minutes and Council has added a Territorial Acknowledgement to Monday’s afternoon meeting and Tuesday public hearings.
