Final master plan for Pandosy Waterfront Park available online
Site preparation is underway for Kelowna’s newest park and residents can go online to explore the final master plan for the future of Pandosy Waterfront Park. The City is finalizing its construction schedule and expects to complete Phase 1 of the park in 2021.
“The master plan for the park reflects our community vision, Imagine Kelowna. It also balances the values and priorities that this neighbourhood and the broader community have told us are important to them,” said Andrew Gibbs, Project Manager. “The park will provide fantastic views and access to Okanagan Lake, with an urban waterfront, a paddle sport launching area, a pedestrian promenade and much more.”
Construction on Pandosy Waterfront Park was originally slated for 2025/26. Thanks to available Parks Development Cost Charges, construction on Phase 1 has been expedited and is now scheduled to occur through 2021.
“This waterfront park is very important to the Pandosy neighbourhood and to the city as a whole,” said Gibbs, “This project is part of our long-term plan to create more public spaces that bring people together and create a vibrant community space.”
There has been some limited site preparation work done over the past few weeks, however the final construction schedule has not been finalized as it is subject to permitting and approval processes. Updates will be provided on the project’s Get Involved page and residents can subscribe to the page to be notified directly when new information is available.
