Evening milling and paving on Benvoulin, Cooper and Acland roads
Starting tonight, Monday, September 10, between 6 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., motorists can expect delays along Benvoulin, Cooper and Acland roads for resurfacing. Acland Road resurfacing was previously delayed due to an equipment malfunction.
During this process, there will be no on-street parking starting at 4 p.m. to allow for the road maintenance to be completed as quickly as possible. Any vehicles left on the street will be towed.
Benvoulin Road and Cooper Road
Asphalt milling will take place on the evenings of September 10 to 12 where Benvoulin Road will be reduced to single-lane traffic north and southbound from Springfield Road to south of Cooper Road. During this time, Cooper Road will be closed from Springfield to north of Benvoulin Road. Paving on Benvoulin and Cooper roads will take place on the evenings of September 16 to 18.
On the evening of September 12, starting at 6 p.m. to the morning of September 13 at 9 a.m., the southbound lane on Acland Road will be closed between Old Vernon Road and Penno Road for asphalt milling. Paving of this section will occur the evening of September 18 and 19.
During milling and paving along Acland Road, southbound traffic will be detoured from Penno Road to Norris Road South and Old Vernon Road.
Motorists are instructed to follow the indicated detour route and use caution while traveling around construction zones. Please obey signage and traffic safety personnel as every effort will be made to minimize disruptions for motorists, residents and businesses.
The $3.5 million Pavement Management Program provides renewal of roadways to preserve and protect the road structure preventing rapid deterioration and enhances safer road conditions. Work is expected to be completed by October.
