City of Kelowna looks back at 2017

As the year comes to an end, it’s a good time to reflect on the events and achievements that contributed to maintaining a great quality of life in Kelowna.

Residents, businesses and visitors are encouraged to check out the 2017 City highlights: Growth, water & more water for a glimpse into the activities and projects that shaped the past year.

Looking back, 2017 was defined by collective response to a number of regional emergencies, water system integration and addressing homelessness.

Other highlights include activating the Journey Home strategy to address homelessness in Kelowna, opening the new Police Services building as the new centralized headquarters for the RCMP, implementing infill housing to remove barriers for residential suites in homes and increase densities in some urban and mixed-use zones, and conducting the 2017 Citizen Survey to gauge public satisfaction with municipal programs and services in order to gain insight into citizen’s service priorities.
