Call for Cultural Plan forum participants
High school and post-secondary students who are passionate about arts, culture and heritage have a few days left to apply to be part of a Cultural Plan forum.
“We’re looking for the future voices of Kelowna’s creative scene,” said Christine McWillis, Cultural Services Manager. “It’s important that as a community we know how to prioritize the current goals to help set up the focus for financial investments, build new or update facilities or enhance programs and activities. We also want to hear ideas on how we can achieve those goals.”
Participants will help shape the Cultural Plan, win prizes and receive a letter of participation (great for post-secondary applications, or resumes).
Applications are due by 4 p.m., Jan. 14, and can be submitted online at kelowna.ca/culture under Cultural Plan. Selected participants will be contacted on Jan. 18.
The Youth Forum is open to Kelowna Grade 11 and 12 students who are enrolled in a class under the creative scope or actively pursuing an artistic discipline outside of school. It will be held on Jan. 31 from 4 to 6 p.m.
The Young Professionals forum is open to Kelowna post-secondary students enrolled in a class under the creative scope or actively pursuing an artistic discipline outside of school. It will be held on Jan. 29 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Residents unable to attend a forum, or who are outside of the criteria, are invited to fill out the online survey or add to the idea board at getinvolved.kelowna.ca/cultural-plan. Online feedback is open until March 31, 2019
