2-day training: November 7-8, 2018 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

What is QWEL?
QWEL stands for Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper training. The program presents an affordable, proactive, local approach to reducing landscape water demand. The QWEL training program provides graduates with knowledge in water efficient and sustainable landscapes. It is a Water Sense Certification Program and has become the standard for many US cities. Kelowna Water Smart is excited to be the first to offer the program in Canada.

What are the benefits of taking the QWEL training?
The QWEL training offers a comprehensive, current and locally-focused training package for landscape and irrigation contractors. QWEL is a Water Sense recognized program that can be added to your marketing portfolio. There is also a database of QWEL contractors, to which successful graduates will be added and which will be accessible through the Kelowna Water Conservation page on the City of Kelowna website.

With increasing concern for water conservation, contractors will need to create water efficient landscapes and adhere to City bylaw requirements. The Water Smart program is offering QWEL training to support these efforts.
