Kelowna 2030 Plan - Greening our future!
New Official Community Plan (Kelowna 2030 OCP)
What will Kelowna be like in 2030? How can we be more sustainable? How can we protect the environment, eliminate gridlock, and enhance the economy, all at the same time?
Council adopted the new new Kelowna 2030 OCP on May 30, 2011, following the public hearing that was held on Tuesday, May 24th.
As part of the community engagement, input was gathered from a wide range of citizens and groups. The end result is a revised Official Community Plan that will guide our land use, development, transportation and infrastructure decisions for the next twenty years.
Your Community, Your Plan
Kelowna residents were asked to provide input into the Plan. Residents were able to find out how the plan is evolving to effectively guide our city's growth and how it relates to housing, transportation, infrastructure, parks, economic development and the natural and social environment. Over 500 people attended the four open houses held in February and more than 600 feedback forms were completed. To see the results of the February/March 2011 on-line and open house feedback go to Get Involved and look under Surveys for the Feedback Summary and Written Comments.
To view all of the 2030 OCP Draft Policy documents and related maps or the open house panels go to the Document Centre.
