Lakeshore Road Multi-use Corridor Project
The Lakeshore Road Multi-use Corridor will be a multi-phased project over many years that will connect the Mission Creek Greenway to Boyce-Gyro Beach Park.
The ultimate vision for the project is to connect to the Abbott Street Corridor and Downtown Kelowna. Funding has been secured for construction for a phase of the project from Boyce-Gryo Beach Park south to the Cook Road Intersection approximately 1100 metres. The funding was part of the Infrastructure Grant program provided by senior levels of government with the City contributing one-third of the cost.
Note: The connection between Cook Road and the Mission Creek Greenway will be complete in conjunction with the future Lakeshore Road Bridge project in the next couple of years.
The Preliminary Design Plans for the first phase have been complete. This project has been forwarded to the Detail Design Phase with Construction anticipated in the spring 2010.
A public information session will be held on the project once a timeframe for construction is established.

These will link key areas of the city and connect neighbourhoods, town centres, parks and schools.
